The Seattle Nanny Network, Inc. Frequently Asked Temporary Childcare Questions

In order for us to begin the process of matching suitable Child Care Providers for your family, please call The Seattle Nanny Network, Inc. at 425-803-9511 and request a Temporary Childcare Family Intake Form.
  1. How do I join the Membership Program?

  2. Joining Our Membership Program
Better relationships create better service! The first step in the process is to complete a family intake form profile, which is available by request. This is your opportunity to specify the qualities you are looking for in your caregivers and to clarify your expectations. Please respond thoughtfully, as we will rely on it to match your family with the caregivers best suited for your needs. To request a copy of our family intake form, please call 425-803-9511; our Temporary Childcare Coordinator will be happy to assist you.

After completion of the family application form a director will contact you in order to spend some time discussing the dynamics and personality of your individual family. The rapport between you and the staff member working on your position allows that person to do a better job of assisting you. At this time, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have and to elaborate more on our process so that we can alleviate any concerns.

In addition to the contract and family profile, membership to our Temporary Child Care ServicesTM requires a $250 annual membership fee. This fee will be applied towards the extensive background checks and screening procedures that we conduct in order to provide you with the best caregivers available and entitles you to a discount of equal value in The Seattle Nanny Network, Inc. Permanent Nanny Placement Services. (Please ask your Director for more information on our Permanent Nanny Placement Services.) In addition, your membership guarantees that the unique details of your family will be familiar to our Temporary Service Coordinator, who will then be able to match you with the most appropriate childcare providers.

  5. What is the cost?

  6. Payment to the Child Care Provider:
Nannies:$14.00 per hour for one child and $1 for each additional child with a maximum of $18.00 per hour. (Holidays slightly more.) Nannies must be compensated for a minimum of four hours.

Over night care: (Nannies spending the night at a family’s home and having sole charge of the children during that time) $50.00 for spending the night plus a regular hourly rate starting when the children wake and ending when the children go to sleep at night. (Holidays slightly more.)

The caregiver should be compensated in full, by cash or check, according to the above rates, before leaving the job assignment or at the end of the week, whichever is sooner. Child Care providers will provide families with a Work Diary, which will record the use of services and act as a receipt for you. The bottom (pink) copy is for you to keep for your records.

Failure to pay the caregiver may result in termination of membership to The Seattle Nanny Network, Inc. Temporary Child Care ServicesTM. Our agency may also assist the caregiver in filing a complaint with the Fair Wage and Labor Board of Washington, resulting in a possible three-year audit of client.

    RATES FOR SERVICES

    Payment to the agency:
